For several mornings I’ve had problems with my alarm clock on the HTC Desire. Each night I’d set the alarm for 6:45 in the morning, but it would never ring. I tested it during the day though and then it was no problem, ring a-ok.
So what could be the issue for this? Turns out I’ve been a frequent user of task-killer applications. Without realizing I had always killed the alarm that I was trying to set!
So if you are using any task killers, make sure you add the clock application to the ignore list of applications to be killed. More info here.

I just got my HTC Desire 3 days ago. Having problem with the Alarm clock too and caused late for work. Might be the Task Killer I have used. Too bad I just can’t believe on Android smart resource management that I’ll manually kill those apps myself.

Thanks a lot, for the last 3 days in a row I’ve been wondering why my alarm clock on Desire won’t ring in the morning and now I know why!
I usually kill all apps with Task Killer before going to sleep – didn’t know that Alarm(Clock) is also killed.

I was using the task killer app a whole lot before. But now I just simply don’t. It’s not necessary, unless you want to specifically kill some crazy app. I thought that it would run faster if I cleared everything now and then, but I can’t really tell any difference.
