Hi everyone and welcome to my travel blog! My name is Niclas Fagerholm and I am usually a student at KTH, Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden.

In this autumn however, I will go to Fukuoka, Japan and study for an entire year. I am very excited about it and hope that it will be a lot of fun! I will be studying Japanese language and culture courses as well as some IT courses. I hope that I will be able to speak at least adequate Japanese and know more about Japanese life after my year in Fukuoka.

I will host my blog on this page so go here if you want to check how I’m doing. This site will be like a journal for me so I will try my best to preserve the atmosphere of my travel and I will post many pictures in my gallery for the future. You can check out my galleries on this page. And now for a taste of things to come.

It has been a long process to get to this point, but I feel very happy now that everything is taken care of and I’m good to go. In order to get the privilege of studying at the beautiful Kyushu University I’ve had to do placement tests at both my home university KTH and at the host university in Fukuoka and luckily I was accepted as an exchange student. I hope that I can convert credits that I will take from Kyushu University to my home university KTH, but even if I have to take some additional courses when I get back to Sweden again I will consider my time in Japan as an important experience for my future.

I will also try and write about the city of Fukuoka as much as I can on this page. There is not so much on it yet, but there will be more to come.
